The Invisalign treatment is a great procedure. I love doing Invisalign, the team loves doing Invisalign for our patients, and the patients love it too. What happens is, we take some impressions and pictures of our Invisalign patients and from there we make a treatment plan for the patient, and they get to see exactly each step of the way, how their teeth will move to the finished result. Patients are just thrilled with that. They can see what the ultimate objective is going to be.
Here are four questions our patients often ask us about Invisalign:
- Do I have to wear the Invisalign trays all the time? For best results, you will wear them at least 20 to 22 hours a day. We recommend you remove your aligner trays only to eat or when you drink beverages other than water. And of course, you will remove them when you brush or floss your teeth.
- Are the Invisalign trays uncomfortable? You may feel some pressure as they gently shift your teeth into place. But many people find aligner trays more comfortable than conventional braces. There are no metal wires or brackets to rub against your mouth.
- Will people know I am wearing the Invisalign trays? They are made of clear, BPA-free plastic. So chances are not many people will even notice you are wearing them!
- How does Invisalign work? The aligner trays shift your teeth, moving them horizontally and vertically to achieve a straighter smile. You change to a new set of trays every week or two. They use differing amounts of pressure, based on the treatment plan top-notch Dr. Dores designs for you.
