They also would rather not have awkward metal installed in their mouths that requires monthly adjustments and weird brushes and tools for maintenance. Teens, understandably, want something more subtle that doesn’t disrupt the lives they have become accustom to.

Invisalign For Teens Is An Easier Way To Straighten Teeth

Invisalign first appeared at the end of the 1990s and radically changed the way we think about orthodontic treatment. But it was primarily designed to move stubborn adult teeth and to give grown-ups a more dignified treatment experience.

At Dores Dental, we are excited to have a way for younger patients to get in on the advantages of Invisalign. Invisalign for Teens works in much the same way as the original Invisalign system.

Invisalign for Teens uses clear, nearly invisible plastic aligners (aka clear braces) to discreetly straighten out misaligned teeth without drawing unwanted attention to your mouth while it is under construction.

No one will ever know, so there won’t be any rude comments or silly nicknames coming your way.

No Lifestyle Disruptions

Once metal braces are installed, they are there for the duration of your treatment.

Invisalign aligners, on the other hand, are made to removable.

You can take them out when you are ready to eat and just pop them back in when you are through. The nice thing is that they don’t trap food like conventional braces, so you won’t have to stay away from the foods that you love.

Invisalign doesn’t feel like it is consuming your life in the same way that standard orthodontic treatment would.

Invisalign Aligners Are Easy To Care For

Your teen will appreciate that there are no special tools needed to clean your Invisalign aligners.

You just remove your clear braces, rinse them under warm water, and re-insert them when you are through.

It doesn’t get much simpler than that!

You can also brush your teeth just like you used to (twice a day for 2 minutes at a stretch). And keep flossing and using mouthwash as you normally would.

You Can Hold Your Teen Accountable

At Dores Dental, we certainly appreciate that orthodontic treatment is a significant investment of your time and money. And we all realize that, on occasion, young folks can become distracted from the task at hand, or lazy about follow-through.

Since we all want the process to be a success, Invisalign has a special feature to allow you to hold your teen accountable for following the directions.

There is actually a built-in monitoring system to make sure the treatment keeps moving forward.

Here’s how it works: when the aligners are worn properly, a small blue dot on the back of the aligners will slowly disappear. This will let you know that everything is still on track.

The Transformation Won’t Drag On For Years

Invisalign can work wonders for the right candidate, and it is able to do so in a fraction of the time that traditional braces would take to deliver the same results. As you might imagine, the treatment timetable all depends on the severity of the issues that we are working to fix, but Invisalign usually wraps up in about a year, which is much better than the 2-3 years metal braces would require.

When it is all over, you will be amazed by the results. The health and appearance of your teen’s smile will be vastly improved.
